I’m Natalie Suleyman, your State Member for St Albans.

State Member for St Albans

Natalie has served our state as the Minister for Veterans, Minister for Small Business and Minister for Youth, since 2022.

Whether it’s young people, small business owners and workers or our state’s remarkable veterans, Natalie is determined to make a difference for the Victorians she represents.

The daughter of Turkish Cypriot migrants, she was inspired by her parents’ work ethic and belief in our democracy. She was elected to represent her community of St Albans in 2014 – making her the first Cypriot of Turkish heritage and first Muslim woman to join the Victorian Parliament.

Natalie has previously served as the Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, and as Chair of the Assembly’s Legal and Social Issues Committee. Prior to joining our state’s Parliament, she was a local Councillor at Brimbank City, including three terms as Mayor.

She believes in the profound value of partnership – and has forged strong bonds with communities across our state. Reflecting this commitment, Natalie is a recipient of the Victorian Multicultural Award for Excellence - Local Government, the Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland, Henryk Sławik Award from the Australian Society of Polish Jews and has received many other accolades and acknowledgments. Natalie holds family values close to her heart, taking great pride in her role as an aunt to her niece and nephews.
