More Trains for Rockbank, Deer Park and Ardeer

Train passengers in Melbourne’s West will get more services in a matter of weeks with the opening of Labor’s $3.65 billion Regional Rail Link project.

Minister for Public Transport, Jacinta Allan, today released the timetable for the opening of the much anticipated project on 21 June, Melbourne’s first new major rail line in 80 years.

Local Labor Members Marlene Kairouz and Natalie Suleyman said the new timetable revealed a big boost in services for local stations.

Trains will also run at least every 20 minutes on weekdays to Deer Park Station, rather than every hour as they currently do. Trains will stop at Ardeer every 30 minutes and Rockbank every hour.

Bus route 456 will also be updated on 21 June to better connected with trains and start running earlier on Sundays. Some eastbound trips will run into the Rockbank township, better connecting this community with public transport.
