More Than 100 New Car Parks at Ginifer Station
The Andrews Labor Government has delivered 110 new car parks at Ginifer Station, making it quicker and easier for people to drive to the brand new station.
Member for St Albans, Natalie Suleyman MP welcomed the new car parks, which mean there are now 350 spaces at Ginifer Station, including 10 disability access spaces.
New bright lighting and CCTV cameras have also been included in the upgrade, boosting safety for local commuters.
These works are a part of the Labor Government’s multi-million dollar project that has already removed St Albans’ two dangerous and congested level crossings at Main and Furlong Roads – improving safety, reducing congestion and creating space for more services on the Sunbury line.
As part of the project, a new bicycle and pedestrian path has also been built to link St Albans and Ginifer Stations, new native trees have been planted, and seating has been installed in the area.
New traffic signals have also been installed at Willaton Street, safely directing traffic onto the resurfaced Furlong Road.
Works around the nearby St Albans Station will continue for several weeks while crews work on the finishing touches to the bus interchange, car parking and retail spaces at the new station.
