Andrews Labor Government Kicks in for St Albans Sport
Errington Reserve will soon be enjoying modern sports facilities thanks to a funding boost from the Andrews Labor Government.
State Member for St Albans, Natalie Suleyman today announced that Errington Reserve in St Albans will receive $250,000 in the new round of the Labor Government’s $180 million Community Sports Infrastructure Fund.
The project will involve replacing the existing tennis courts with multi-lined hard courts and upgraded lighting, which will provide opportunities for tennis, informal basketball, soccer, netball and volleyball.
Victorian sports clubs are the lifeblood of our communities and they deserve modern, accessible and safe facilities – the Labor Government is delivering those facilities through its Community Sports Infrastructure Fund.
The fund is developing new sport and active recreation facilities and rejuvenating tired grounds and ageing clubrooms across the state.
In this round of the Community Sports Infrastructure Fund, over 90 projects will be supported across Victoria thanks to a $60 million boost from the Victorian Budget 2018/19.
It’s part of our commitment to promoting sports and active recreation and encouraging all Victorians to get out there and get active.
Across Victoria we’ve already invested $420 million in community sport and recreation facilities and added a more than half a billion dollars in the Victorian Budget 2018/19 to support sport across all levels.
