Main Road and Furlong Road Level Crossing to be Removed Together
The Victorian Andrews Labor Government is getting on with the projects our state needs to get people home safer and sooner using public transport. Planning and early consultation has started across Melbourne on the delivery of the Level Crossing Removal Project.
As part of the 2015/16 State Budget the Labor Government will combine the Main Road and Furlong Road Level Crossings in a package of works in order to drive down costs, reduce disruptions to rail and road users and accelerate the delivery of the Level Crossing Removal Project.
Removing these level crossings will reduce congestion, increase the number of trains running and help reduce the road toll ensuring that the St Albans community can get home safe.
Thank you to all community groups and members who have campaigned throughout many years for the removal of these two dangerous level crossings.
